Personal Emergency Preparedness (PEP)
The Personal Emergency Preparedness (PEP) class is specifically designed to help residents prepare for a disaster and to take care of themselves and their families before, during and after a disaster.
The PEP training is based on the same curriculum as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program. It is a condensed class and covers all the important skills that the CERT training provides, without the long-term commitment of joining the team.
This is a one-time 3 hour class in which you will learn Earthquake Disaster Awareness, Utility Control, Fire Safety, Hazardous Material Awareness, Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Awareness, Home Disaster Preparation and Sheltering In-Place.
NOTE: PEP is also a pre-requisite to register for the CERT training.
The City of Fremont’s Fire Department offers FREE Personal Emergency Preparedness (PEP) classes specifically designed to help residents prepare for a disaster and to take care of themselves and their families before, during and after a disaster. Everyone, including high school students, can attend these classes; one that suits their schedule. Class and registration details are provided below.
